Happiness Is...

Taking an afternoon snooze with Dad.
Getting to play with the remote!

Figuring out how to move a shoe box to be able to get up on the TV stand.

Eating cherries "Nakey Jakey" style!

Playing with bubbles for the first time.

Playing in the shower...with your clothes on!!!

Finding a door just your size...

Eating the furniture.

Attacking Mom while she is trying to take a picture!

Eating raisins...
And unknowingly getting them stuck on your cheek.

Attacking Mom again while she is trying to take a picture!

Crawling under the high chair first thing in the morning.

Having a green bean goatee.

Just eating "Nakey Jakey" style in general.

Watching "Signing Time" real up close and personal.

Wearing your favorite hat.

Again...eating naked!

Crawling at the speed of light!

And wearing your awesome hat backwards while doing it.

Taking a quick breather.

Getting to play with the spoon and sweet potatoes!

I just love my little man.

Sleeeeeep

That just deleted my entire post. Grrrr.

Happiness is sleep. I have been awake since 5:51 this morning...for many reasons, but the main being i have tried every pillow in this house and all of them hurt.  I think the reason being they are all too firm. any pillow suggestions? Where? What? Don't say memory foam...ouch.

Happiness Is...

Happiness is being able to shop from the comfort of your own home instead of going into the 110+ degree weather with your wee bedlamite in tow.  O Amazon!  How I love thee!

I purchased the items below a couple of days ago and remembered again today.  What a happy memory that was. (Sigh)

1. Caruso Steam Roller Set:  Very excited about this.  Very. Excited.
2. Rosin for my Violin Bow:  I haven't bought new rosin (pretty essential to a good sound) since my parents bought my violin (that was 10 years ago).
3. Strings for my Violin:  Dominant strings for domination.  Yes.

Heat Stroke Prevention...

This ugly, unassuming piece of equipment has been my dearest worldly possession as of late:

J and I figured out that Phoenix has had 81 consecutive days of heat over 100 degrees Fahrenheit with the exception of one day which topped out at 98 degrees.  After driving home from a friend's house the other day, I realized that I can't take anymore trips out in the heat that take over 15 minutes until it cools off some (what feels like right around the end of never).  I pulled Jake out of his car seat, red cheeked and completely soaked with sweat.  I felt awful.  I just can't do that to him anymore.  We went swimming the other day with Jake and had a blast.  The first time we've been swimming all summer.  It was magical.  I even wore my new bathing suit:
Thank you ModCloth.

Beaters From Heaven...

These little babies made me really happy today.  With the help of these now multi-purpose tools, Jake was occupied through 70% of dinner time which meant I was able to eat about 70% of my dinner without interruption.  Aaaaah. Bliss.

The Little Things...

In an attempt to keep somewhat of a "Tender Mercies" journal (as I enjoy so many tender mercies), every day for the next 30 days I am going to try and post something that made me happy that day.

One big thing that has been on my mind a lot that I am immensely grateful for and makes me smile every day:

Families. Are. Forever.

My brother's 8 year "death anniversary" (how do you say that???) came and went this year on August 9th.  I can't believe that 8 years has passed since I have seen him.  I tried remembering his voice the other day and after much fishing around up there, I finally caught a snippet of sound.  Ouch.  That hurt.  Time can be cruel sometimes.  I am so grateful to know that not only will I see him again but that we will be sealed together forever because my parents made that righteous decision, and not only that, but I will be able to have my family together with me forever: my husband.  My son.  How grateful for I am for that tender mercy and God's great plan of happiness.

Miss you, Ty.
